چکیده

Kigelia africana dried bark has been recommended in the management of sickle cell anemia by traditional practitioners. The aim this study was to evaluate vitro antioxidant and sickling inhibitory activities africana. Quantitative estimation phenolic compounds performed using colorimetric method hydro-ethanolic extract (70%) decocted. activity determinate according Emmel evaluation properties carried out scavenging free radical DPPH. obtained results indicated that species contains flavonoids (8.61±1.08 mg QE 9.78±1.14 QE/g dry weight) total phenols (9.48±0.19b GAE/g 11.11±0.22 GAE /g decocted hydroethanolic respectively. IC50 values ethanolic were 0.320±0.01 0.468±0.04 mg/mL sickle-formation inhibition test value 89% 82.36% for at 10mg/mL Those higher than 80% which phenylalanine value. Both extracts showed activities. Overall, there could have a correlation between these compound content studied plant extracts. These would justify use rural environment.

Anti-inflammatory, Free Radical Scavenging and Calcium Antagonist Activities of Corchorus Fascicularis Lam. Crude Extract

The plants of genus Corchorus have a folkloric repute to possess anti-inflammatory activity. The crude ethanolic extract of Corchorus fascicularis Lam. (CFE) was screened for presence of anti-inflammatory, free radical scavenging and calcium channel blocking (CCB) activities to validate its vernacular use. The 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay was used to assess free radical scavenging...

Free Radical Scavenging Activities of Zizyphus mauritiana

In the present study, antioxidant activities of the two varieties of fruits of Zizyphus mauritiana (Boroi) were investigated. Ethanolic extracts of fruits powder were characterized by the method described by Hatano et al. [1] in which stable 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical solution were used. In the present investigation, it is found that all of the fruit extracts have remark...
